Week 2 - Yoshi - Post-Trial

[ Kohaku is in his room unsuspectingly, the evening after trial. He's mostly just lazing on his bed and staring at the ceiling. ]

[ I hope Yoshi has a good time watching Kohaku startle at the message. He bolts upright at the notification sound and then takes a second to get his tablet the right way around to actually read.

And as he does he... he can't help but laugh a bit, actually. ]

Well... duh.

[ God, Yoshi... Kohaku's still smiling a bit though. Hearing that Yoshi'd actually been trying to be proactive in a way that wasn't outright suicidal is making him feel a lot better about the boy. ]

I'm going to assume there's stupid bullshit at work that means you can't give me any relevant info to the game, so I'll just come out and ask first: anything of use you can tell us or do we skip ahead to chatting?

[ ... oh. This is a double yikes, actually. Kohaku goes quiet for a bit, then he moves to the side of the bed to make room and pats the area next to him. Yoshi might as well get comfortable while they're having this talk. ]

You found a way better way to live for others than to simply have yourself sacrificed. Might've needed some backup to make it work, to be fair.

[ Yoshi is still... so dumb. So dumb, Kohaku can almost not stand it. But also it's nice, talking to him now, after spending the whole day arguing about his death and being pessimistic about his mindset. ]

At least we won't be lynching anyone innocent this week, so some protection progress was made, I guess.

Now cross your fingers for us actually hitting the execution jackpot to get rid of that dog beast for real.

You did say you were training for this, yeah... My memories were more like... arguing with people, but 'missions' were a thing I was oddly aware of in them.

[ He leans against the wall and thinks of the quickest way to explain this. ]

I did some shit that the government really didn't like, so they took me prisoner and offered to either execute me or to use my music to fight zombies along with their inofficial orchestra royal. Not a hard choice to make. So I'm touring with our slavedriver orchestra leader and the other criminal folks to get rid of as many zombies as we can.

Yeeep. Before I got here, our leader and our newest member were infiltrating some creepy monastery and getting up to godknowswhat in there.

This might not be so different. We're canon fodder as much as I was back home.
