[ I hope Yoshi has a good time watching Kohaku startle at the message. He bolts upright at the notification sound and then takes a second to get his tablet the right way around to actually read.
And as he does he... he can't help but laugh a bit, actually. ]
... it's probably shitty to say now, but that's good news.
[ God, Yoshi... Kohaku's still smiling a bit though. Hearing that Yoshi'd actually been trying to be proactive in a way that wasn't outright suicidal is making him feel a lot better about the boy. ]
I'm going to assume there's stupid bullshit at work that means you can't give me any relevant info to the game, so I'll just come out and ask first: anything of use you can tell us or do we skip ahead to chatting?
[ This whole death thing really doesn't feel like it has too much consequence in the resort. It especially doesn't feel like it, when you find yourself banging on the door of a deceased person, hoping to locate them easily this way.
[ There's a pause here. Kohaku's danced around telling anybody about this for the whole time here, so it's weird to just come out and say it. Yoshi is trustworthy, probably more so than anyone else, simply on account of being too stupid to ever betray his trust... and yet.... He grits his teeth before he speaks. ]
Yeah. Me, actually. There's... You know how my one eye is red? There's supposed to be a deadly virus behind it. I need to know if it's still there in this fake body.
[ Yeah, that's... that's all he has to say to this verbally. He puts the tablet down on the floor next to him and raises his hand to trace his scar and touch his eye as if that'd confirm anything to him.
Holy shit.
That's about the only thing he can feel right now, it comes before joy or any other emotion. ]
[ He's right, this takes a moment. Notably, Kohaku just starts laughing. It's neither bitter nor happy, just... somewhere in between. In an area that is dangerously close to crying.
It's dangerously easy to get lost in the trap of invisibility and get lured into thinking he is reacting privately, but Kohaku snaps himself out of it half a minute later and picks the tablet back up again. His hand may be a little shaky. ]
It's the zombie virus. I would have been dead a long-ass time ago had those assholes from court not worked their science bullshit on me and brought back my human side.
They're apparently nowhere as thorough as this fucking Foundation.
[ Sometime in the evening, there's a knock at his door. If he opens up, there's a familiar journal floating there, probably used to knock on the thing in the first place.
[ Kohaku hasn't seen the journal in a while so excuse the short blank look as he sorts through memory before recognition sets in and he gives a smile. ]
Kohaku's kind of stunned here, though he'll hesitantly raise a hand and attempt patting Yoshi on the back. That should hopefully not be too hard to coordinate despite invisibility issues. ]
[ It's a tight hug, but he doesn't linger for long. After a moment, he lets go and steps back, flipping open the journal to a pre-written page:
"The tablets don't work anymore. I don't see anymore staff, not even the chef. If we can't eat, we won't be able to contact anyone anymore. This is probably goodbye." ]
[ The journal drops a bit, but he flips to a fresh page and takes out a pen from what was probably an invisible pocket, writing:
"I know. Everyone's really determined! So we're going to leave it up to you. Well, if there's anything left to do as ghosts, we'll probably try that. Ichigo told someone he was going to buy us more time, too. But we probably won't be able to interact again unless we're brought back."
The writing is small and neat, trying to conserve space on the page, but plenty legible. ]

Week 3 - Yoshi - Monday
Hey Yoshi, you around? ]
no subject
kohaku? hi!!
no subject
[ He did not feel like running around the whole resort on the lookout for someone invisible. It would have looked ridiculous.
Once inside, he immediately flops down on the floor, leaning his back against the bed. Any place is a seat. ]
Your eyes still do their thing, right?

yeah! and now i can see ghost stats too
why? need me to look at something?

okay i'll look for you

i don't see anything weird?
nothing that should be a virus

But also he's getting a hug the second they're inside. Surprise? ]

Kohaku's kind of stunned here, though he'll hesitantly raise a hand and attempt patting Yoshi on the back. That should hopefully not be too hard to coordinate despite invisibility issues. ]

"The tablets don't work anymore. I don't see anymore staff, not even the chef. If we can't eat, we won't be able to contact anyone anymore. This is probably goodbye." ]
no subject
[ There's a lot of very real points raised here, points Kohaku had partially tried to avoid thinking about so far, but... ]
It's not goodbye. It might be insane and looking difficult, but I'm not just giving up on getting you back.
no subject
"I know. Everyone's really determined! So we're going to leave it up to you. Well, if there's anything left to do as ghosts, we'll probably try that. Ichigo told someone he was going to buy us more time, too. But we probably won't be able to interact again unless we're brought back."
